The Microbes Reading Group was held at the CSSM on June 1st in hybrid format. The book discussed was Vital Decomposition (2020) by Kristina M. Lyons. The topics discussed on the book were wide ranging, covering: Methodology and data, urban gardening, dichotomies of soils, and comparing the un- and re-learning of soils in Colombia and Finland.
The next reading group will likely meet again the late summer/early autumn. The tentative plan is to read Decay (2021) by Ghassan Hage. Any questions email us at cssm@helsinki.fi!
