Aman Asif was a Visiting Fellow at the CSSM in spring 2023.
Aman is a multidisciplinary designer at the time working as a senior lecturer at Beaconhouse National University (BNU), School of Visual Arts and Design (SVAD) in Lahore. She completed her Masters at Aalto University, Finland, in the department of Creative Sustainability. During this time, her interest in photosynthetic marine microbes developed. Her MA thesis addressed human-to-algal relations through the creative practice of Bioart. Aman likes to work at the intersection of art, design, and science by combining philosophical approaches. Her current research interests involve looking into how creative practices can help build more diverse registers that are better attuned to the role and sensitivities of marine microbial ecologies.
