Meri Teperi (she/her) is a former Film & TV professional currently studying Social and Cultural Anthropology (BA) in University of Helsinki. At the Centre for the Social Study of Microbes she is assisting Salla Sariola and Kazimuddin Ahmed in making a documentary about Assamese fermenters as part of Sariola’s wider research on antimicrobial resistance. She also works for copyright organization Kopiosto and volunteers for Cultureels – collective of ethnographic film. Meri believes that ethnographic film is a powerful tool in sharing scientific knowledge for a wider audience beyond academia and that it’s a good way to spread understanding and compassion into the world.
